The BikeTag: A Simple AirTag Bike Mount

The BikeTag

After a string of local bike thefts I wanted a sleek yet stealthy way to mount an AirTag to my bike…so I went ahead and made one

I designed this as part of a one-day build video on my YouTube channel, and you can watch that video for a full breakdown on the design and testing!

I wanted to put an AirTag on my bike, but didn’t love any of the existing options. This mount is a middle ground between being discreet and still stylish. I’d recommend printing in either PETG or ASA, as the PLA prints I tried just didn’t hold up to repeated removal of the device (needed if you plan to replace batteries, etc). If you’re interesting in printing your own, check out the model over on my PrusaPrinter’s page

It fits on bikes with a Ø35.1mm headset, and the two screw mounting style seen below. It should be possible to remix the design to fit other sizes of pipe.

My bike’s headset/stem specs are below too:

  • Headset 1-1/8” FSA Ahead, semi-integrated, 8mm cone spacer
  • Stem Alloy, 4-bolt, 10-degree rise, 25.4mm clamp
